About the Biomicrotechnology and functional genomics (Biomics) team:Biomics is a team of the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Grenoble (IRIG) of CEA, located in Grenoble, France. The Biomics team produces organoids and tumoroids recapitulating the human physiological and pathological architectures and functions. In collaboration with the laboratory “Microfluidic Systems and Bioengineering” (LSMB) of the Innovative Health Technologies Department (DTIS) of CEA, Biomics’s objective is to create a start- up in the field of drug assays on 3D cellular models.
About the position:The candidate will be in charge of developing organoid and tumoroid models based on cell lines and biopsies (patient-derived organoids, PDOs). The 3D cell cultures will be produced in extracellular matrix microbeads reproducing the physiological microenvironment of the cells. The composition of the microbeads will be adapted to the cell type in order to optimize the development conditions of the 3D structures.
Your mission will be to produce and optimize 3D cell models in extracellular matrix microbeads, and to demonstrate the response of the cell models in drug assays. Your contribution will fit in with the team's advances in cell biology, biopolymers and instrumentation, which will enable the team to gradually master the entire process of producing and qualifying batches of organoids and tumoroids.
