Presentation

Cell functions are influenced by the genetic program of cells but also through stimuli from the microenvironment: neighboring cells, extracellular matrix, soluble signal from stroma, physical constraints, etc. To discriminate the respective part of genetic and microenvironment on cell fate, it is necessary to control them at three dimensional scale (3D).

We use the potential of microfabrication and microfluidic to characterize genetic determinants which control the balance between proliferation and differentiation in the course of development and carcinogenesis in pancreas and skin. More specifically, we used large scale biology approaches (RNAi-based high content and throughput screening) on human cells grown in 3D (organoids, tumoroids, spheroids and organoids on chip) to characterize new biomarkers and therapeutic targets in oncology.
