Dr. Nikki Reyne

Nikki Reyne is a researcher at the University of Adelaide and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, working with the Cystic Fibrosis Airway Research Group (CFARG). With over 14 years of experience in animal research, she manages the only cystic fibrosis rat colony in the Southern Hemisphere. Her work focuses on lung mechanics and ventilation in preclinical models, using X-ray velocimetry (XV) to assess lung function in CF rats, β-ENaC mice, and obstructive models. She also investigates genetic therapies to prevent or reduce CF lung disease, having developed nasal potential difference techniques in rats and a CF rat model of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection to explore gene therapy delivery in infected lungs.
