IDEA: Analysis of data extracted from cell images

Scientific context
The TIRO laboratory is particularly interested by two membrane proteins, which are expressed in thyroid cells and are involved in iodine metabolism. To study these proteins, the laboratory uses the cellular imagery, which allows to track a huge quantity of cells (several millions) over time.
No software actually allows to analyze easily this quantity of data. It was necessary to develop an appropriate software.
Description of the project
The project was composed of two parts:
- adaptation of the TOPCAT software developed by the astrophysics group of the university of Bristol; TOPCAT allows to analyze huge quantity of data extracted from images
- development of the IDEA software to manage the analyses performed with TopCat on the different projects of the laboratory.
Used technologies
Responsive web application developed with Java (Spring, JPA, JUnit), CSS / Javascript frameworks (Foundation for apps, AngularJS 1…), Maven, PostgreSQL.
